We have Essential Business Server (EBS) with Exchange Edge Transport running on Security server (TMG). Following a power outage Microsoft Exchange ADAM service fails to start with error 10013:
An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions.
This service is preventing dependent exchange services starting with no mail flow to messaging server. The ADAM port is 50389 (part of EBS configuration) but my understanding this is an internal protocol used by ADAM and that it uses port 50636 to communicate with messaging server for which there is a firewall rule enabled (part EBS setup).
The problem seems to have occured with update 11 to Exchange Service Pack 3.
